This is true of physical stress, psychological stress and emotional stress. Yoga plays a significant role in relaxing your mind and body, promoting your overall mental health. Yoga involves the work of breath and rhythm coming together to repair and restore your body. As World Mental Health Day is almost here, here are some yoga postures that can help you manage stress and anxiety.

This yoga posture stretches your spine and opens up your hip muscles. The posture has a calming effect, reducing anxiety, and mental and physical fatigue.

A great gesture to your lymphatic and nervous system, Balasana reassures you by releasing stress. It extends the muscles of the hips, thighs and ankles; and is also good for getting relief from back pain and neck pain.

This exercise is great for stretching the back muscles and the whole hamstrings. Apart from stress and fatigue, it promotes digestion and liver function; and relieves the symptoms of PMS.

Another great exercise for eliminating fatigue and stress, the Happy Baby Pose stretches your spine and groin muscles lightly and effectively.
5. Uttanasana (Fold Forward)
