Adelaide Strikers vs Hobart Hurricanes: Riley Meredith shows impressive footwork to finish off Ryan Gibson at BBL 2020. Watch

Hobart Hurricanes fast pitcher Riley Meredith showed impressive footwork to overtake Adelaide Strikers’ Ryan Gibson during a 2020 Big Bash League (BBL) game at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart on Sunday. Chasing a goal of 175, the Strikers were struggling, having lost four wickets with just 36 runs on the board. Throwing the ninth over innings, Meredith threw a straight pitch to left-hander Matt Renshaw, who tried to throw it on the side of the leg but didn’t get the proper connection. The ball landed right in front of him and he decided to reach the end of the non-forward with a quick single. However, an alert Meredith charged from the side of the pins and made a brilliant run kicking the ball toward the stumps.

The official BBL Twitter user shared the video of the race, crediting Meredith’s mustache with giving her super powers.

“Awesome! That mustache has super powers. Riley Meredith is doing it all out there! # BBL10,” BBL tweeted.

Aside from affecting the run, Meredith cast a brilliant spell, returning with 2/30 of her four overs. He first fired Jonathan Wells on his first trade for a duck.

After putting on the incredible run in her second over, Meredith managed to get Rashid Khan caught in the next installment, who also left without disturbing the scorers.
