Several iPhone users have written on various social media platforms that they are not receiving pop-up notifications for SMS text messages and iMessages.
MacRumors first wrote about this problem on the new iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max phones.
“But it seems like it’s affecting people with older iPhones as well, so it’s becoming more and more like an iOS 14 issue,” The Verge reports.
Several iPhone users also posted the issue, which may be a possible bug, on the company’s support forums.
“I am not receiving sound notifications in text messages or banner appears on my locked screen. I have an iPhone 11 and just downloaded the latest version of iOS 14. I have rebooted my phone twice. Please advise,” posted the user on Apple’s communities page.
Another iPhone user echoed the problem: “I am having the same problem, I do not receive notifications of any kind for my messages, but only from one person, all the others work fine and I do not have them silent or silent.”
Apple has yet to release a fix for the bug.
“Early reports indicate that the textless notifications bug is still present, at least in some cases, in the second iOS 14.3 release candidate that Apple shipped to public beta testers,” the report said Saturday.
A user posted on one of the Apple forum pages: “I have not received sound notifications for text messages for several months. I tried 20 different suggested solutions and nothing works. I am about to offer a reward for finding the solution! I have the new iOS 14 and the new Apple Watch 6. “
