The late FC Kohli (posthumously), who calls himself the father of the Indian IT industry, received the rare award from world tycoon, Microsoft founder and donor Bill Gates. Sans Kohli was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Service Award by ‘Tie Global’ and Bill Gates was honored with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’. Bill Marriott of Marriott International received the Lifetime Achievement Family Business Transformation Award. The founders of The Indus (TIE) presented the awards at a virtual “Global Summit 2020” event on Thursday evening. His wife received the award on behalf of the late Kohli, the founding CEO of TCS. TIE Global Chair Mahaveer Sharma said that every entrepreneur (Father of the software industry is no more) wants to be like Bill Gates and that this award was given for his outstanding contribution to the development of computer technology. Gates said in a statement that he was “honored” to receive the prestigious ‘Tie Global’ award. He said innovations are the key to tackling the tough challenges facing the world. Innovation will also play a major role in combating the corona epidemic. In addition to three awards in the Lifetime Achievement category, it has given ten awards under various categories. The Government of Singapore has won the Best Government Agency Award for Supporting a Startup Ecosystem.
