Favre leaves Dortmund after winning the DFL Super Cup in 2019 and was unable to end Bayern Munich’s dominance in the league. A poor start to the 2020/21 season, with four losses in the first 11 games, Dortmund are currently in fifth place in the league, winning just one of their last five games.
Rumors about his departure intensified after yesterday’s defeat. The question now is who can take over after Favre. While the team is extremely talented, the coaches available are still limited. Red Bull Salzburg’s Jesse Marsch has been mentioned as a potential candidate as has Mauricio Pochettino, with Marsch being the more likely choice of the two.
