COVID-19 Vaccination Registration for All Indies Age 18 Beginning May 1: How to Register

The Government of India has announced phase 3 of the country-wide vaccination campaign amid the steep spike in COVID-19 cases. All citizens over the age of 18 will be eligible for vaccination starting May 1. Currently, only citizens over the age of 45 were allowed to take the vaccine. India’s fresh cases average 2.94 lakhs – the second highest ever recorded globally. Users need to register for the vaccine online before going to the hospitals and getting their first shot.

MyGovIndia has tweeted that phase 3 will begin on May 1, and registrations for vaccination will begin shortly through the CoWIN and App Aarogya Setu platform. There is no app for the CoWIN website, and registration can only be made through the website. The government is likely to open registrations before May 1, to get the ball rolling beforehand. At the time of writing, the registration process is still limited to users over the age of 45, but that should be extended to all users over the age of 18 soon.
