Covid Vaccine: Only 100 Can Receive Injections Per Day At Each Site, Says Government | India News

BENGALURU: The government has planned an extensive vaccination campaign against Covid-19, deploying five people for each inoculation site and setting aside a room for observation of adverse effects after the injection is administered.
Each Covid-19 vaccination site can vaccinate around 100 people in one day. In addition, the government is looking to use community halls and establish makeshift tents for vaccination in the later stages, as each site will need to be larger than regular vaccination sites.
These are part of the draft standard operating procedure issued by the ministry of health and family welfare and shared with all states.
States are preparing to improve vaccination infrastructure, identifying dedicated hospitals for adverse events after immunization and specific vaccination sites to meet Covid-19 inoculation requirements. According to the SOP, each vaccination site will have five vaccination officers, including a guard, and three rooms, one for waiting, vaccination, and observation. has reviewed a presentation made by the ministry in a meeting with state immunization officials.
Each person who receives the vaccine will be kept under observation for 30 minutes to check for adverse effects and those who develop serious side effects will be transferred to an exclusive hospital identified by the state.
Dr. Rajani N, one of the immunization officers who attended a two-day workshop on vaccination organized by the Center, said: “The decision to have three rooms for vaccination is taking into account the need for social distancing. While the vaccination room will see only one person enter at a time, the waiting and observation room will have seating for several people. ”
