Ferrari is scheduled to hold a previously scheduled board meeting on Tuesday.
Fiat Chrysler Chief Executive Mike Manley is in pole position to take the top job at Ferrari, Italian daily Il Messaggero said in a report without sources on Saturday.
Ferrari and Fiat declined to comment.

Since then, Italian newspapers have speculated about a number of possible successors.
According to Il Messaggero, a board meeting at Ferrari next week could name a new CEO.
