In early November, a report exposed that Samsung is working on Galaxy M62. By name, the device was thought to be a mid-range smartphone back then. But now, another report reveals that it is a tablet.
The Galaxy M series is Samsung’s exclusive online device line with limited offline availability. Until now, all the devices in this series have been mid-range, budget and entry-level smartphones. Therefore, the Galaxy M62 with model number SM-M625F was also expected to be a phone.
But it turns out that it will be the first tablet in the Galaxy M series. According to the source of 91Mobiles, this device will be official as Galaxy Tab M62. But sadly, nothing else is known about this product, except for the fact that it will be compact in size and available in a 256GB storage variant.
At present, Samsung has two series of tablets. Premium and mid-tier models are launched under the Galaxy Tab S brand. On the other hand, budget models come under the Galaxy Tab A brand.
Since the location of the Galax M series is similar to that of the Galaxy A series, we can expect the Galaxy Tab M62 to be a budget tablet. So we think it could be the spiritual successor to the Galaxy J Max, the only tablet in the Galaxy J series to be launched in 2016.
But a reference list says otherwise. Last week a device by the name of Galaxy F62 was spotted on Geekbench with Exynos 9825 and Android 11. For those of you who don’t know, this is the same chipset that powers the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10 + from last year.
Also, since the Galaxy M and Galaxy F series are identical except for their retail exclusivity. Thus. this Galaxy F62 could be the Galaxy M62. If that’s the case, then this device will be a mid-range tablet.
UNTIL NEXT TIME: Report: The entire Galaxy S21 series will feature a reinforced polycarbonate back panel
