Kia Sonet and Seltos prices will increase ‘substantially’ starting January 1, 2021
With another new year upon us, here comes the imminent price hike. It’s right at that moment when the announcements arrive, or you can go straight to one in a few weeks. Wef January 1, 2021, Kia Sonet and Seltos the price will increase substantially. Carnival MPV prices will not increase and will remain the same as today.
Currently the automaker sells 3 cars in India and is well positioned to expand its product line. His first Seltos car helped create brand identity. And Sonet has entered the compact segment and has come out practically above it.
Kia Sonet launched just in time for the holiday season just concluded. A period that is traditionally one of high sales driven in large part by a variety of specially selected offers. This, of course, plays a crucial role in closing a deal with such a high number of footsteps coming your way.
Kia Sonet and Seltos price correction
Kia Motors India has not reviewed its introductory price for Sonet, since its launch in September this year. The last price hike Seltos received was almost a year ago, in January 2020. With raw materials and transportation costs on the rise, nearly all automakers plan to raise prices starting January 1, 2021. In a letter shared with its dealer partners, Kia has said the new prices will be “substantially” higher.
The price increase that will take place on January 1, 2021 is due to an increase in the costs of supplies. Launching vehicles at an introductory price is quite an effective tool for manufacturers. The imminent price hike is expected, and those who wish to take advantage of an early booking can move on.
The price increase is applicable to all customer reservations that exist as of December 31, 2020. That is, all those customers who receive delivery on January 1, 2020 onwards, you will have to pay for the Sonet and Seltos price increases across India. This is not something new or out of the ordinary. Every year as the new calendar year begins, new MY vehicles go into production. This detail can easily be deduced from the year of manufacture.
Growth of Kia Motors India
Kia Sonet and Seltos have a waiting period of more than 3 months. As such, deliveries completed as scheduled for the end of December will not be affected. However, if your delivery date is scheduled for 2021, expect the company to notify you by phone and mail from the dealer. Considering the demand and sales of Kia cars, a waiting period is inevitable.
Since a price increase early in the year is normal industry practice, the pattern is one that is widely accepted by buyers. And after going through processes and being in line, such price revisions do not affect most buyers. But instead it is borne by the buyers with each subsequent price revision. Win something, lose something.
Kia also sells its largest Carnival here since its launch in February 2020. Last month, Kia reported wholesale sales of 21,022 units. A year earlier, when only Kia Seltos were sold, sales were reported at 14k units. Last month, Kia Sonet sales were reported at 11,417 units.
