Kadapa: BJP state president Somu Veerraju has demanded that the state election commission take steps to cancel the local body elections held before the lockdown in the state and issue a new notification. He alleged that the Vaikapa government had consolidated more than 50 per cent ZPTC and MPTC in Kadapa district. Appealed to cancel them. He was speaking at a wide-ranging meeting of party workers organized in Kadapa city. Somuveerraju called on the activists to work for everyone to strengthen the party. He clarified that BJP and Janasena will contest together in the upcoming Tirupati by-election. He said the Center was making special efforts to support the backward Rayalaseema and Uttaranchal regions. He said the Center would take a step forward for the development of Rayalaseema areas similar to the one funded by Polavaram. The sand in the state is said to be dearer than gold. He criticized that despite some corruption during the reign of Chandrababu, sand was not available. Somu Veerraju explained that the BJP will soon launch a movement on sand.
