India will never forget the cowardly attack on its Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday as he paid tribute to the security personnel who gave their lives in the terrorist attack on this day in 2001.
“We will never forget the cowardly attack on our Parliament on this day in 2001. We remember the courage and sacrifice of those who lost their lives protecting our Parliament. India will always be grateful to them,” he tweeted.

Nine people, including eight members of security personnel, were killed in the attack by terrorists belonging to teams based in Pakistan. The five terrorists were killed by the security forces.
The incident caused a high level of tension between India and Pakistan and a massive improvement in the security of Parliament.
