Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday: Teenage days for precious family snapshots, see Queen’s life in pictures as she turns 95

This is the first time that Queen Elizabeth has celebrated her birthday without her companion and husband Prince Philip who died on 9 April.

Queen Elizabeth is celebrating her 95th birthday today. However, it is hardly a celebration as the royal family continues to mourn the demise of the Queen’s husband Prince Philip who died on 9 April. This is the first time Queen Elizabeth will be celebrating her birthday without her companion and there are no celebrations in order. According to reports, it will be a quiet birthday with the closest members of her family in tow.

As the queen turned 95, we decided to go back in time and revisit the Queen’s journey so far. From her pre-teens and teenage years to her accession to the throne, Queen Elizabeth has engraved history in the books of Britain as the reigning monarch.
