Panjagutta: A fatal road accident took place this morning at Ameerpeta Chowrasta in Hyderabad. One person was killed and another was seriously injured in the incident. Girish Gupta (24), a resident of KPHB Colony, Srikakulam district, and his friend Ravi Teja were speeding towards Kookatpalli on a two-wheeler. The two-wheeler overturned and met with an accident when it reached Ameerpeta metro station under Panjagutta police station. Girish Gupta’s head got stuck in the railing of a metro station and died on the spot. Ravi Teja, who was critically injured, was rushed to Osmania Hospital for treatment. Doctors said his condition was critical. Police reached the spot, removed the iron rods with a gas cutter and took Gupta out. The body was taken to Osmania Hospital for postmortem. Panjagutta admin SI Nagraj said the case is being registered and investigated.
