IPL Schedule 2021 – 14th edition will take place only after April 10: BCCI has not yet announced the dates of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the latest schedule for the England tour of India has hinted at when IPL 2021 may begin.
The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Thursday the dates for the series of four tests, five T20I and three ODI of India against England. The two-month series begins on February 5 in Chennai for the first test. The longest format of the game ends on March 8.
It will be followed by the T20I series which is scheduled for March 12-20. Following this, India and England will play the ODI series which ends on March 28.
After this long and eventful series, players are likely to want a break before joining their respective IPL franchises for IPL 2021.
A 10-day break for the players would help them rejuvenate and prepare for the new IPL season. It will not be a surprise if the IPL starts from the second week. Considering the previous editions, IPL has always started more or less in the second week of April.
It is very likely that BCCI will decide to host the new edition after April 10. It would give players some time to reconnect with the would-be new team members, if the proposed mega auction takes place.
Interestingly, the Indian cricket board is planning to introduce two new teams for the new season. A final decision on this will be made on December 24.
New IPL 2021 team: BCCI AGM will make final decision, Ahmedabad almost certainly will be the new franchise
New IPL 2021 Team – In case BCCI AGM comes out to the introduction of new IPL equipment from IPL 2021, it is almost certain that the city of Ahmedabad will be included in the list of IPL franchise cities.
The proposal to increase two teams for the Indian Premier League 2021 (IPL 2021) will be formally released for home approval at the AGM on December 24. The approval of the representatives of all the state associations will be taken for the inclusion of two new teams in said meeting on December 24th.
Based on the information available with InsideSport, one thing is for sure now that the city of Ahmedabad will be included in the IPL roaster before anyone else. The names of Lucknow / Kanpur, Pune will be discussed if BCCI AGM decides to increase more than 1 team for IPL 2021 or IPL 2022.
Should BCCI AGM decide to postpone the proposal of the new equipment for IPL 2022, Ahmedabad will still be the first city to be included in the IPL roaster.
