Everyone over the age of 18, who is now eligible to be vaccinated from May 1, can sign up for their shoot from Saturday (April 24) on the CoWin platform.
Registrations for the latest round of vaccinations will open in the next 48 hours on the CoWin platform.
As India faces the world’s worst Covid surge, its daily outbreak surpassing the United States today, the government has opened up vaccinations to all adults for the first time.
According to the new vaccine rules, states and private entities can purchase vaccines directly for vaccinations.
The center will continue to vaccinate those who have been declared eligible to date – frontline workers, health workers and the over 45s.
Apart from Covishield Serum Institute of India and Covaxin Bharat Biotech, Russian Sputnik will soon be used, the government said.
Yesterday, Serum said its vaccine would be sold at Rs 400 to states and Rs 600 to private hospitals.
Prices for the Center would remain the same – Rs 150.
Those who qualify can register for vaccination through the CoWIN website and the Aarogya Setu app.
