Jasprit Bumrah’s heroics with the ball are not unheard of, but India’s front-line running back on Friday showed the world some batting skills.
Bumrah broke his singles fifty in any form of cricket against Australia’s A team during Friday’s preparation game, much to the delight of cricket fans across the country.
Once reeling, Bumrah’s 55 undefeated with just 57 balls helped the visitors score a 194/10 score on the board as the tail runner climbed the milestone in style with a Will Sutherland high. Not only did Bumrah emerge as the team’s top scorer, the Indian cricketer was also greeted with an honor guard upon his return to the pavilion.
Former Indian starter Wasim Jaffer, whose memes game has been the talk of the town lately, reacted to Bumrah’s half-century with a fitting and hilarious meme.
Using Geet’s (Kareena Kapoor) range of expressions from the Bollywood movie We meet, Jaffer tweeted this:
And Twitterati was impressed with the prowess of Jaffer’s memes.
Bumrah, receiving respect from her teammates in the form of an honor guard, went viral on the microblogging site Twitter on Friday.
Bumrah, so far has a test average of 3. Many have linked this performance to Glenn McGrath’s fifty against New Zealand many years ago.
