A fresh look at From Software’s next big action RPG, Elden Ring it could be falling sooner rather than later, according to sources close to the development.
As seen by VGC, reliable source and Gamesbeat Writer Jeff Grubb recently speculated on why Elden Ring wasn’t at The Game Awards despite winning the Most Anticipated Game crown.
“They’re obviously working on this game … they didn’t show it here, but I think they probably could have if they wanted to,” Grubb opined. “I think it is in that state. But let’s give it another month or two.
“I’ve heard one thing I can say: have a little more patience, but just a little more. That doesn’t mean days, and I don’t think it means weeks, but it doesn’t mean months and months and months.”
The claims add credibility to another recent report that hinted the Elden Ring might be on the home stretch. This, which came from From renowned Bloodborne software detective and optimizer Lance McDonald. At the time, McDonald suggested that March 2021 is probably “too early” for the Elden Ring release date.
“I did a bit of spying today and it looks like the Elden Ring is ready to go public,” McDonald said on a recent Twitch broadcast. “It seems like there are some people working at the Elden Ring who only bring in when the games are almost done. As you can imagine, there is a bunch of contractors that snoop around. I look at what they are doing and what they are doing talking, and one of them said some things today [December 3] And I was like, ‘Oh wow.’
“Based on what I know that person’s job is, I thought the game was almost over.”
Elden Ring, which is being led by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the man behind Bloodborne and Dark Souls, it was announced during the Xbox E3 2019 Showcase. FromSoftware is collaborating on the project with Game of Thrones’ George RR Martin, whose role takes him behind the myths of the game, and it’s clear from his background that fantasy is his forte.
Since its reveal, almost nothing has been heard about the development of the dark action RPG, until now, but Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently teased that he “I played a lot” of the long-awaited game.
