Tracy Howell, a native of Texas, has been married to Clifford Howell for 41 years. She posted on Facebook about her strange but sweet tactic of grabbing a bite of her husband’s lunch every day. The post soon went viral on social media, garnering more than 100,000 shares and 28,000 likes.
Howell wrote about how she has been cooking her husband’s lunch since the first day they were married. From time to time, she would also join him at his workplace, have lunch with him and that’s when her husband realized that lunch tasted better with someone he loves. It was then that he decided to take matters into his own hands.
“One night while making his sandwich, I took a bite before putting it away. When he got home (long before cell phones), he commented that someone took a bite of his sandwich. I told him I couldn’t” ” I joined him for lunch, took a bite to let him know I’d be joining him, “Howell revealed in his post.

So, the real reason Tracy Howell took a bite out of her husband’s lunch was so that he wouldn’t feel lonely at lunchtime and miss his wife’s company. Interestingly, this is a practice that she continues to date and that her husband loves every time. “I keep doing this frequently (unless it’s tuna or pepper cheese) and he still says, ‘I saw you joined me for lunch today and it sure was good,” Tracy Howell wrote in her post.
After Howell’s post went viral and his Facebook page was flooded with sweet messages, he revealed in another post how he would do this simply for love. “The only thought that comes to mind when I make him lunch and ‘take a bite of his sandwich’ is how much I love him,” she said.
